Wolves 95s Ben Miller Invited to Canada Basketball's Junior Men's National Team Training Camp

Winnipeg Wolves 1995s alumnus, Ben Miller, is one of 21 athletes invited to attend Canada Basketball's training camp for their Under-18 Junior Men's National Team. The training camp will begin June 6th and run for nine days at Humber College in Toronto. Miller is among a very select group of athletes invited to the training camp, which also includes Harvard commit Chris Egi and 2015 Top-25 ranked recruit Montaque Gill-Ceasar.

After a successful senior season with the Westgate Wings, which concluded with another AAA Varsity Provincial Championship where he again received MVP honours, Ben Miller was ranked as the #1 Player in Manitoba in the Winnipeg Sun's Annual Coaches Poll. The high school season concluded with Miller named as the Next-Level Hoops Male Player of the Year, before being awarded the prestigious Carl Ridd Award and receiving his second AAA Varsity Player of the Year award.

Athletes selected to the Under-18 Junior National Team will participate in the U18 FIBA Americas Championship in Colorado Spring, USA. Head Coach Roy Rana (Ryerson University) will guide the Canadian squad on their quest to qualify for the 2015 U19 World Championships in Greece, and he will be joined by Kirby Schepp (University of Manitoba) and Scott Morrison (Lakehead University). Earlier this spring, Coach Schepp was a coach at the 2014 Next-Level All-Star Showcase and a guest coach at a Wolves 1998s practice.

Despite being a year younger than his teammates, Ben Miller was a member of the Winnipeg Wolves 1995 team throughout his early development and high school career. Under the guidance of Wolves founder, Martin Riley, and current Director of Operations, Chiranjit Goswami, Miller eventually assumed the role of starting point guard for the 1998s and guided the team to tournament championships in both Canada and the US. A perennial member of the Manitoba Provincial Team since he was 14, Miller - 6'3 point-guard with exceptional court-vision - constantly contributed to the Manitoba Provincial Team program's recent success, which culminated in a Silver-Medal finish in the 2013 Canada Games. After the summer, Ben Miller will begin his CIS playing career when he joins the Acadia Axemen in September.

The Winnipeg Wolves would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ben Miller on his selection to the Junior Men's National Team training camp and which him the best of luck during the week.
